Finexcel is deliberately small. When you engage us, the person who understands your business is the person doing the work — not a partner you meet once and a junior you never chose.
Finexcel is new. The experience behind it isn't. I've spent my career inside finance functions rather than advising them from the outside — building the processes, running the closes, and dealing with the systems when they don't talk to each other.
That's the gap this exists to fill. Growing companies are usually offered one of two things: a bookkeeper who records what happened, or an advisor who tells you what to do but doesn't operate. Neither builds a finance function that survives the next stage of growth.
I take ownership of the whole thing — the accounting, the controls, the technology and the reporting — and run it to the standard I'd apply if it were my own company. When you're ready for an internal finance team, my job is to help you hire it and hand over something that keeps working without me.
Why work with a new firm? Because you get senior attention that an established firm reserves for its largest accounts, and because being early means the function gets built properly the first time — not retrofitted after something breaks.
Automation and AI are used where they genuinely reduce error and effort — document capture, reconciliations, anomaly detection, variance analysis. Not because they're fashionable, but because a lean function only stays lean if the repetitive work is engineered out of it.
No pitch deck. Just a conversation about where you are and what's getting in the way.
